Letter to the Editor

January 4, 2016

I would like to applaud the Courier on the last edition released Friday, October 16. The reason is due to the fact that you released a story that not many would. LifeAct is something very near and dear to my heart because they show that awareness is so influential.

Mental health related issues have been on the rise in high schoolers and I really appreciate the printing of it, especially on the front page! Personally, the school takes away from asking for help often shows it as a sign of weakness and it’s wonderful that you brought attention to such a worthy cause. The hallways all display pictures on succeeding and trying your best, but it’s really difficult to try your best when you need to ask for help.

This is, to me, a great feature article for our school. I hope it inspires many more to seek help or help those like in the LifeAct walk.

I’m in a club called SAY (Student Advocates for Youth) and our campaign this year is promoting awareness on a variety of topics. This reminds me a lot of the article and really inspires me, and hopefully the rest of my club when I show them.

I really appreciate the newspaper and how hard these classmates work to keep it running for the rest of us. Keep up the good work!
