Downtown Cleveland Restaurant Week

Clevelanders are proud to be associated with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the NBA Finals bound Cavaliers, but the city does more than just entertain with music and hoops… Cleveland is also delicious. The Downtown Cleveland Alliance, in sponsorship with Ohio Savings Bank, is hosting the 9th annual Downtown Cleveland Restaurant Week where  hundreds of unique and local restaurants will have the chance to show off their finesse. Some of these restaurants are headed by renowned chefs such as Michael Symon, Doug Katz and Zack Bruell. 

Cleveland is taking a full week to show off its restaurant scene from Feb. 19 to Feb. 28. Over 50 downtown restaurants will serve specially-prepared meals at reduced prices of $15, $30 and $40 lunch and dinner specials, and all you have to do is show up. 

One of the many participating restaurant-bars includes The Barley House, which has released its lunch-for-two menu. They are offering a choice of two sandwiches or burgers and a pizza with the choice of a “giant fresh warm-baked chocolate chip cookie” or chocolate banana bread pudding for dessert.

As for higher-end steakhouses and hibachi grills, Tomo Hibachi and Sushi, Hyde Park Steakhouse and
Red Steakhouse will all be open for discounted dinner specials only.

Exotic cuisine foodies can head to Taza, which features a Mediterranean-style menu and even adopts traditional ways of cooking. This involves the use of an authentic pita dome and means diners can actually watch their appetizer rise and bubble. Zocalo Mexican Grille is another enticing destination and has won multiple awards for authenticity, such as Cleveland’s Hot List Best Mexican Restaurant, and it was voted the winner of The Diner’s Choice Award of 2015 by Opentable.

As for dessert, The Chocolate Bar is open for both lunch and dinner and periodically offers live music in addition to their chocolate filled delicacies.

In addition to The Chocolate Bar, another busy music scene where Clevelanders can simultaneously dance and enjoy discounted food is The Big Bang Piano Bar. It is open for dinner only.
