Key Club is a prominent and active club at SHS that provides students with ways of gaining volunteer hours, while
also providing them with skills like leadership that will benefit them later in life. To take a deeper look into what the club’s all about, read the interview below with co-advisor Kirsten Ahrens.
Q: What is Key Club?
A: Key club is an international organization that volunteers for
different organizations in the community and also on a larger
scale.
Q: Why should students join Key Club?
A: It’s a really good way to not only meet people but it also gives them the opportunity to obtain required volunteer hours.
Q: What should students expect when joining the club?
A: They should expect meetings once a month as well as other volunteering opportunities.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about Key Club?
A: There’s a lot of different ones. I really like painting pumpkins in the fall, working with the retirement home and especially the canned food drive because it’s a competition, and I love winning.
Q: What should students of Solon High School be expecting from the club this school year?
A: They should expect lots of opportunities in the high school and around the community.
In a video interview with the courier, Ridhi Patel, the newly elected co-president, further explains the importance of the club and more questions that students may have.
Key Club will meet tomorrow 3 p.m. in the cafeteria to paint pumpkins to donate to Emerald Ridge. Join the google classroom with the code gpquye3 to stay updated.
