Oasis Yoga Spa events to check out over break

December 20, 2015

Oasis Yoga Spa, tucked behind Very Berry Smoothie and White Flower Cake Shoppe here in Solon, has a lot to offer for such a small studio. Along with daily yoga sessions full of peace and spiritual experiences, Oasis is hosting three events over winter break.

On Dec. 21, yoga instructor Dana Chaisson will lead a celebration of the return of light and the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year.  The event will welcome winter with slow movement, rest and healing meditation along with the sounds of chimes and crystal singing bowls.  Join Dana and other yogis from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. for $30 to set intentions of warmth while preparing for the next few cold months.

On Jan. 1, Dana Chaisson is leading a workshop of restorative yoga, astrology and guided meditation to welcome and set a positive tone for the new year. The workshop will include calming music, aromatherapy and astrological predictions for 2016 for your zodiac sign from 2 to 4 p.m. Space is limited, so register now for $30.

On Jan. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m., yoga instructor Mike Strano will teach Beginner’s Mind, an introduction to yoga. The workshop will consist of a background of yoga, breathing techniques, important yoga poses and  answers to a beginner’s most frequently asked questions. For $25, both experienced yogis and beginners can learn fundamental tools to improve their yoga practices.

Along with these three specific workshops and events, Oasis has its own regular daily schedule of yoga classes ranging from meditation to wind down and breathe, to a warm vinyasa to move your body and sweat out all of the toxins.

To relieve all of the stress caused by midterm week and to prepare for the hectic new year, grab a yoga mat (or borrow one of theirs) and rejuvenate yourself at Oasis Yoga Spa.

For more information on the workshops and how to register, visit www.oasisyogaspa.com.
