Over the summer, former math teacher Julie Moeschberger took a job offer at West Geauga High School as assistant principal. Rebecca Molyneaux took Moeschberger’s former position bringing changes to the math department. Molyneaux gives her insight below on the changes and transition to this job.

Q: When did you start in the math department?

A: Aug. 1, 2023.

Q: Where did you work previously?

A: At Solon Middle School as a long term math substitute teacher. Mainly for seventh grade.

Q: Was it stressful having to take over a new job so quickly?

A: Well, it was stressful because there was a lot to do super quickly, but I was ecstatic for this opportunity and didn’t mind the stress. So far everyone has been super welcoming and fantastic. I love it here and look forward to the future.

Q: How many years have you been teaching?

A: I’ve had my teaching license since May but have been teaching without my license in various positions for four to five years.

Q: What do you hope to get out of this new position?

A: I want to make a difference in kids’ lives, their understanding and hopefully love of math.

Q: Why did you want to be a math teacher?

A: I absolutely love helping kids and teaching them. They are what motivates me to come into work everyday.

Molyneaux’s teaching assistants Alexandria Charboneau and Cassandra Charboneau give information on Molyneaux’s teaching style in the video below.
