The holidays are right around the corner, which means that Bath & Body Works has released their new holiday scents. Each year, different holiday flavors are sold at Bath & Body Works, but there are also a few staples that make their return.
After seeing dozens upon dozens of TikTok videos on the new collections, I was intrigued. I decided to put my nose to the test and see if the hype about all of the new flavors was legit.
Upon walking in the store, I was immediately hit by a spark of holiday spirit. From the decorations, to hundreds of scents and workers in festive outfits I realized that this year would be no different, and that Bath & Body Works did it again with releasing a one of a kind collection.
I used a ranking system out of 10 and had my sister, Charlotte Skok, come along with me. She was not able to smell all of the scents due to her overcoming a winter cold, but she was able to provide her insight on some. I placed the candles from least favorite to favorite.
Hot Cocoa and Cream: 4/10
I personally am not a big fan of chocolate, so my answer may be a bit biased. My sister liked the smell of this one and said it smelled exactly like a cup of hot chocolate. For me, it was too strong because it just smelled like chocolate and nothing else. I think this would be a good flavor for a chocolate-lover, but not my favorite.
Frosted Coconut Snowball: 6/10
This scent was really sweet and reminded me of summer. It smelled like a summer drink on a warm sunny day, which was very refreshing, but I would not have placed it in the holiday collection. The fragrance notes included North Pole Vanilla, winter freesia, woods and spun sugar-which I did not pick up. It was a very good scent that made me crave a coconut popsicle, but maybe for a warmer time of year instead. This would be perfect for coconut, fruity-smell lovers.
Tis’ the Season: 7/10
I enjoyed this candle, but it smelled like cologne to me. It had woodsy nodes, but also a hint of apple. If my dad were to pick out of all the scents I smelled, I think he would select this one. This candle would be good for someone looking for a more cozy scent to light around the fireplace on a chilly night.
Merry Cookie: 8/10
This scent was very similar to Cookie Butter Truffle, but a little less buttery. It smelled more like a fresh batch of cookies and was very savory, but I liked it a little less than Cookie Butter Truffle because it was a bit more basic. It is perfect for a sugar cookie lover who wants a more simple odor.
Bright Christmas Morning: 8/10
This candle reminded me a lot of the scent I would like in middle school, which is why I was not surprised when my 14 year old sister enjoyed this one. It smelled like a caramel apple, but very fresh with a hint of pine. It was a little too sweet for me to personally purchase, but I did really like the scent, and I think it would be perfect for someone who wants to add a little sugariness to their home.
Snowflakes and Cashmere: 9/10
My sister and I both really liked this one because we are both big fans of warmer aromas. It was more of a mature scent–, because it reminded me of a perfume my grandma would wear. In candle form, it is something I would light on the daily when studying or just wanting a chill vibe to calm myself down. I would recommend this scent to sweet-scent lovers who want an almost snowy morning feel along with it.
Cookie Butter Truffle: 9.5/10
This was the first candle I smelled upon walking in, and it was absolutely delicious. I was drinking a Cookie Butter Cold Brew from Dunkin, so I could taste the smell. It smelled like baking a cookie, with the cookie dough and subtle butter smell. It was a warm scent that reminded me of helping my mom with baking around the holiday season and would be the perfect candle to light on a cold winter morning. It is good for people who like a sweeter aroma in their home.
Frosted Forest: 10/10
This one was so fresh and clean and reminded me of the smell of a Christmas tree. It brought me back to how my mom always lights in the kitchen around the holidays, so it made me feel very warm and happy. I recommend this to anyone looking for a clean, nostalgic fragrance to light during the holidays or any time of the year you need a little pick-me-up.
Magic in the Air: 10/10
This one was my personal favorite. It has that holiday feel but is also perfect for all year long. It had hints of almond and vanilla but reminded me of the scent of fresh laundry. I purchased this scent in the body spray because I loved it too much to pass it up. This smell is perfect for anyone looking for an everyday scent or candle to light all year round, but that still has the winter feel to it.
Conclusion
Overall, these were all delicious scents, and when I went they were having a huge sale which made it even better. All body care was $5.95 and even though that sale has since ended, Bath & Body Works has tons of great offers near the holidays, so be on the lookout. Without the sale, these three wick candles retail for $24.95. These scents were perfect for holiday gifts, and there is so much variety that I think everyone would be able to find one that suits them. Smelling each candle was a very fun experience, and in my opinion they did an amazing job formulating the collection. Even though I was not able to smell every one of their new scents, I did find some of the best in the amount I did smell. For all of the holiday and Bath & Body Works lovers, I recommend trying these out.

I understand you are a high school senior, so congrats on your article!
Just please verify you are using the correct verbage. Flavor and smell should be scent or odor.

My issue with the candles is the wick. Some candles this year won’t stay lit.
